Planned Trail Will Connect Neighborhood to Armco Park

Union Village Ohio residents will enjoy easy and safe access to a 311-acre nearby park thanks to a planned bike path.

Shaker Village Trail, connecting Union Village to Armco Park, will make it easy to get to the park on foot, on bicycles or even in a golf cart! Union Village partnered with our neighbors at Otterbein SeniorLife and Warren County Park District to earn a $500,000 grant from Ohio Department of Natural Resources to help fund construction of the 0.8-mile paved path, which should be completed in 2026.

“We are excited to be a part of this important project,” said Matt Obringer, project manager at Union Village Ohio. “The trail will provide Union Village residents with easy and safe access to Armco Park and its many outstanding amenities.”

Outstanding amenities just steps from the front porch

At Union Village, residents enjoy a Simply Living lifestyle characterized by large front porches, tree-lined streets and beautiful architecture. The unique, walkable neighborhood is built on an award-winning master plan that incorporates a variety of home options with 200 acres of green space. Pocket parks with benches and shade, a dog park and a village square with a playground and live music offer places for neighbors to connect. The vision for Union Village is establishing A Place to Call Home where most daily needs can be met within a 10-minute walk, so shops, restaurants and other businesses will have a home in the neighborhood as well.

The Shaker Village Trail will be an outstanding complement to the neighborhood’s features by connecting to Armco Park a short distance away.

“This grant will be a transformative step toward creating safer, more accessible pedestrian and bicycle connections,” said Matt Latham, CEO of the Warren County Park District. “The Shaker Village Trail will not only connect three vital destinations but also enhance the outdoor experience for walkers, bikers, and residents, promoting healthier lifestyles and a stronger sense of community.”
