Growing Families Find a Place to Call Home at Union Village Ohio

When searching  for a place to raise a family, people typically have a few non-negotiables. A home itself that meets their needs is essential, but schools, nearby amenities and safety are also very important. Union Village Ohio is a place where many families are finding all these needs are satisfied!

Our unique, walkable neighborhood is  ideally situated in Warren County Ohio, known as “Ohio’s Largest Playground,” an  easy commute to Cincinnati or Dayton, Ohio. Union Village is located in Turtlecreek Township.  The community was ranked no. 25 in Cincy Magazine’s “Rating the ‘Burbs,” an annual review of 138 communities across eight Greater Cincinnati counties. Our neighborhood is served by Lebanon City Schools, which rank 4.5 out of five stars by the Ohio Department of Education! There are also several options for education, which you can access in our Moving Here guide.

Let’s zoom in on some of the ways our neighborhood is designed for families.

Pedestrian Safety and Walkability Create a Better Place to Call Home

Family members should feel comfortable to enjoy the neighbor together or independently, so we emphasize walkability here at Union Village Ohio. Our neighborhood is built on an award-winning master plan that follows the 10 Principles of New Urbanism. Walkability and connectivity are addressed by designing streets and spaces that are safe and comfortable, but also interesting to pedestrians. This encourages walking and enables neighbors to know each other and protect the community.

We are also building amenities for daily living within walking distance, which lends independence especially to the elderly and young. In fact, Union Village is built on the 8-to-80 principle: a community must be built specifically to serve eight-year-olds, 80-year-olds and everyone in between.

Green Spaces Provide Natural Places for Connection

New urbanist neighborhood design calls for a variety of parks in walking distance to homes. At Union Village Ohio, access to a community garden, a playground, ballfields, and even a sunflower field in the late summer, are just steps from your front door!

The Union Village Master Plan calls for 200 acres of green space distributed throughout the community. Pocket parks with benches and shade provide spaces to rest and connect with neighbors. The Union Village Dog Park is a corner of the neighborhood especially for our four-legged family members.

Just one mile from our neighborhood, The Warren County Sports Park at Union Village hosts large tournaments for soccer, softball, baseball and lacrosse. The Sports Park also has additional amenities including a playground and walking path. Also nearby, Armco Park offers a lake for fishing and kayaking, a disc golf course  and more.

A Variety of Homes for Families to Choose From

One thing that makes Union Village quite unique from other new neighborhoods is the variety of homes. A mix of smaller cottages, homes with 3,000 square feet, townhomes, and duplexes can all be found within one block. Upper-story apartments above retail will also be added.  The variety accommodates a range of family sizes, and contributes to a diversity of ages. Many homes are even built with multigenerational families in mind.

The homes have a very important feature in common: Quality. The Union Village Guild comprises southwest Ohio’s best homebuilders who take great pride in quality architecture and craftsmanship. While leveraging their individual strengths and attributes, each builder also adheres to the Union Village Code so we create a place that is cohesive yet uniquely charming.

Large, welcoming porches stand out as you stroll the neighborhood’s tree-lined streets. This is just one example of the Code creating a higher quality of life. Porches are gathering places for families to enjoy some fresh air, watch fireflies at dusk and catch up with neighbors.
