Autumn in Ohio is treasured time of year.

The sounds of crickets and the touch of a cool breeze... when autumn arrives to southwest Ohio, it is met with merriment! Autumn in Ohio is a treasured time of year when Union Village Ohio residents enjoy gathering around a cozy fire pit or sipping cider on the front porch. 

Of course, we also love to wander and explore the amazing surroundings beyond our neighborhood. Falls festivals offer the perfect opportunity to celebrate the season and spend time together. Below are four of our favorite fall festivals, nearby.

Our unique, walkable neighborhood is ideally situated in Warren County Ohio, known as “Ohio’s Largest Playground.” It’s a fun Place to Call Home! Union Village is also centrally located for easy commutes to Cincinnati or Dayton, Ohio.

Airport Fest! At Warren County Airport is Sept. 21, 2024

As the crow flies, Warren County Airport is within a mile of our neighborhood. Airport Fest! Is the opportunity for aviation enthusiasts to explore static airplane displays including vintage planes and sleek jets. There will be free activities for kids including inflatable bounce houses and slides, carnival games, face painting and live entertainment. There is no admission charge but you may want to purchase fare from the food trucks or even a helicopter ride!

Country Applefest in Lebanon, Ohio is Sept. 28 and 29, 2024

There is a lot more to Country Applefest than apples! More than 300 vendors will have art, crafts and food at the Warren County Fairgrounds (665 N. Broadway Street, Lebanon OH ). There is also live entertainment during the festival! Parking is free but there is an admission fee. Visit the Country Applefest website for all details and check for updates.

Ohio Sauerkraut Festival in Waynesville, Ohio is Oct. 12 and 13, 2024

Ahh, that fabulous fermented goodness! It certainly warrants its own festival. The Ohio Sauerkraut Festival is always the second full weekend of October. Charming downtown Waynesville is the setting for live entertainment and 450 juried craft vendors from 26 states! According to The Warren County Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Festival serves up more than seven tons of sauerkraut including traditional German fare like sausage topped with sauerkraut, and more adventurous options like sauerkraut pizza. Traditional festival foods are also an option for those who don’t care for ‘kraut. Maps and event details are available on the Festival website.

Dayton German Club Oktoberfest in Dayton, Ohio is Oct. 19, 2024

In Southwest Ohio, there is no shortage of Oktoberfest celebrations during the late summer and early fall months. The Dayton German Club Oktoberfest may be the granddaddy of them all! Hosted by Dayton Liederkranz-Turner, Dayton’s oldest German heritage organization, Oktoberfest celebrates German heritage through music, food and yes, beer. Visit the club website for details.
