Parks Take Shape at Union Village
Construction of a stage, playground and other park infrastructure is underway at Union Village, a unique Warren County community where the first homes will be built later in 2019.
A large stage and children’s play area will be highlights of a town green, lined with Ginkgo trees, at the entrance to the community from Ohio 741. A lawn will provide space for hundreds of people who might bring chairs or blankets to watch performances in the future.
“The vision is to create a sense of place, with a venue for entertainment and possibly even festivals in the future,” said Project Manager Matt Obringer. “There will be multiple green spaces and places for people to gather throughout the community.”
Creating a “sense of place” is a hallmark of new urban development. Union Village’s town green is modeled after a similar new urban neighborhood, Habersham, South Carolina. Within walking distance to homes and businesses, spaces are created to accommodate festivals as well as intimate gatherings among homeowners.
Meanwhile, crews have completed the installation of sanitary sewer, storm sewer and water lines ahead of road construction and new homes. Road improvements, including construction of turn lanes, continue at a fast pace on Ohio 741 and Ohio 63.
Information about home plans and pricing will be available, soon. Please subscribe to our email updates to receive notification about homes and other project news.
