Principles of New Urbanism: Walkability
Union Village developers are creating a community built to be walkable in the heart of Warren County, Ohio. The Village’s future residents will walk tree-lined streets to parks, shops, restaurants and even business offices.
The development is based on new urban design principles, including pedestrian-friendly street design and the ability to reach most of our daily needs within a 10-minute walk.
According to the Congress for New Urbanism, compact, walkable communities like Union Village improve health by encouraging physical activity, lowering risks for obesity and chronic disease.
The community will also lend itself to more extensive exercise. More than 25 percent of the development will be green space, including a 200-acre greenway system of meadows, woodland parks and pathways connect to Armco Park and Warren County Sports Park.
