2021: A Big Year for Building at Union Village
When it comes to building a village, there are many components that must come together. At Union Village, tremendous progress was made in 2021 to fulfill the vision of a place to enjoy “simply living.”
A Place to Call Home
The region’s top custom home builders constructed 15 single family homes and seven townshomes at Union Village in 2021. The architecturally diverse combination of homes established a colorful and attractive streetscape. Spacious front porches defined a lifestyle that values outdoor living as much as the interior. Thousands of visitors toured these homes during Homearama: Lifestyle Edition in October 2021.
In the year ahead, builders will continue adding to the variety of floorplans and price points, including a combination of single- and two-story homes. New plans include the 1,300-square-foot Carriage House and the 2,800-square-foot New Haven.

Destinations to Walk To
Part of building a village is creating destinations to walk to. At Union Village, tree-lined streets connect residents with businesses, parks and even events that were established throughout the year. The inaugural season of Music on Market Street brought live musical performances to Union Village Square on fourth Fridays of the summer. Premier Health Center at Union Village opened in August, and LCNB National Bank opened in September.
The first phase of Union Village also includes six parks that offer places for people to meet, relax and enjoy the outdoors. The Village’s award-winning master plan includes more than 200 acres of green space including meadows, woodland parks and pathways.
During the warmer months of 2021, Union Village Ohio was the site of several ribbon-cuttings and outdoor concerts, including the Music on Market Street series.
People Make it a Village
The most important aspect of any village is the people who call it home.
“The up and coming community of Union Village offers so much more than just a beautiful place to reside,” said resident Patrick Cade. “It is so quaint with a focus on walkability and sociability and we look forward to our future as a part of this amazing village.”
It’s not uncommon to see people walking their dogs or taking a lunchtime stroll through the neighborhood. Ten households have been established and some of the neighborhood’s first residents participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony in September.
Union Village residents helped cut a ceremonial ribbon and the neighborhood officially became a place to call home.
